Wow its been a little while since I posted. I would like to say that is because we have been so busy this year but I think it would be more honest to say that I've been too lazy. I guess the biggest event for us this year is that we bought our first house. Yea! After living in apartments for so long its been nice to be able to put nails and paint on the walls. After eight months we finally unpacked our last box this weekend. We are loving the new house and it really feels like our home now. Im may we took a trip to Denver. It was a really fun and relaxing trip. While we were there we took, Mikaela to the zoo, aquarium and children's museum all of which she loved. We had a very fun summer going on many diffrent camp outs, hanging out at the pool and playing in the backyard. One thing that i have come to love about living in a town with nothing to do is you don't feel obligated to do anything. If me and Mikaela want to spend all day in our pj's watching cartoons and playing games then we do, and I love it. Last month we took Mikaela to the pumpkin patch we had lots of fun going through the corn maze, feeding the animals, going down the giant slide and taking a hay ride to pick out our pumpkins. Mikaela has gotten so big. Its amazing to see how much she has changed even from a couple months ago. She isn't a baby at all anymore she a full on toddler. She's super busy and always into something she definitely keeps me on my toes. We tried to take on potty training this last week but it didn't go so well. I know shes still young but i thought she was ready because she always tell us after she goes potty but turns out she really doesn't care about it yet. If she went on the potty we let her choose a piece of her Halloween candy out so once she figured that out she would go sit down and go through the motions but not really go then she would want a candy and when we wouldn't give her one and she would get so upset. One night she got so mad at Derik she wouldn't even stay in the same room as him lol. So after three days we called it quits and decided we will try again after the holidays when things aren't so crazy. She has recently started to talk in sentences although its not always what i like to hear like " no no mom I not share, mine" . Usually though shes a sweetheart. Derik stays busy with work and is always working on different projects around the house. Right now he is about 3/4 of the way done building me a built in desk and storage unit for the front room and it is looking great! We are getting ready to head to Texas next week for thanksgiving and are very excited for that. Good food, friends and shopping what's not to like. We find out tomorrow hopefully if Derik has to head to Hobbs, NM for Monday and Tuesday next week as well. Mikaela and I would go with him if so. I've never been to Hobbs but Google images isn't making it look to enticing. Anyways that pretty much been our year. Hopefully I will improve at this blogging so I don't have to search thought iphoto for our next recap.
